Mensa is an organization aimed at fostering human intelligence to benefit local and international communities. Membership in Mensa is contingent upon scoring in the top 2 percent of the population on a standardized intelligence test. There are over 200 accepted tests, including official Mensa admission tests, which can be taken at any point in your life. Current Mensa members range from age 2 to 106.
Mensa International, Ltd. is a global entity, but the United States has a separate American Mensa organization. Members reap many benefits, as there are sponsored activities nearly every day on Mensa’s calendar. Local, regional, and national events include guest speakers and various tours. Local chapters often have special interest groups that meet for activities and discussions about various shared interests, including foreign food and favorite movie genres.
